Johnny Depp is John Dillinger!

Public Enemies, currently in production at the hands of the great Michael Mann, helms another legendary performance by Johnny Depp and perhaps the one that will clinch that elusive Oscar statue. Depp is set to play John Dillinger.
It would be during the great Depression of the 30’s where crime in the United States would become a national sensation. And with the meteoric rise of criminal movement came along the infamous names that is associated with it. These people would eventually become Public Enemies. John Dillinger, cunning and murderous, was one of its greatest stars.
Last time we saw him, Depp was beheading customers. So with Public Enemies, the violence continues.
Michael Mann, with Last of the Mohicans, Heat and the Insider all under his belt, will certainly share his cinematic style to the undying gangster genre. The cast is character perfect. Christian Bale plays the canonical FBI agent and Marion Cotillard as the lady to the criminal. Two cast members, however, will prove supportive for the film. Stephen Dorf and Giovanni Ribisi is set to complete the “Dillinger Gang”.
